I've been berated recently for failing to keep this 'ere blog up to date. While I can't promise a Jimbo-esque uber-update, I can at least tell you a little bit.
I'm off work for the next two days in London for the SymbianExpo, although I'm here purely to satisfy personal curiosity rather than represent my employers! In the absence of any company-supported Training I will be mostly attending the huge number of free seminars, enjoying the exhibits, playing with phones and perhaps checking out future career opportunities ;)
Hospitality at the soon-to-close Hotel Baz has been of a high quality thus far, and tomorrow I've been promised a sneak peek at his new gaff in Surbiton. He'll be sharing his new 2-bed flat with my Black Prince 6ft Snooker table, which has been in storage for several years since Granny Wales left it to me. With a bit of luck we'll be enjoying pint-sized (but not pint-stained!) snooker action in a just over 2 weeks!
I made my annual appearance on the score sheet last saturday for the UniS Oldboys Reserves, but alas it was not enough and we went out of the Junior County Cup by a margin of 3-1 (aet) to Greenside(?) in the ghetto of Croydon. My temporary captainship of the side at the beginning of the season has become a more permanent arrangement, however our results leave a lot to be desired. Despite a reduction in the number of teams from 3 to 2, the club failed until this weekend to field two squads of 14 and this has contributed in part to our poor start to the season: out of both cups at the first hurdle, 1 point from 3 games in the league. Hopefully the spirit and confidence of last season will return soon and the results will turn around.
Don't hold your breath, but you might get another update before the week is out.
