Englishman in New York

Greetings! Just a quick check in while I wait for Steve to finish his meeting at work.

I've just been sat in a taxi for an hour from JFK to Quietman on W43rd St, which was far more tedious than the 7 hour flight on Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow. Mr Branson's crew on the 3-month old 'Mustang Sally' 747-400 got
us in the air on time and before we knew it we'd left dreary West London and were high above the clouds in glorious sunshine.

The journey didn't exactly fly by (poor pun, sorry), but with quality on-demand personal entertainment systems in every seat, there were plenty of ways to pass the time. Lost in Translation passed 2hrs, Jump London (which I'd missed on TV) another hour, with The Office, Friends and a New York guide filling in the other gaps. The atmosphere on the plane was eerily quiet with everyone using the free headphones though. The grub was pretty good too! I passed on the opportunity to send a text message from my seat at 36,000ft for $2.50 or a phone call for $9, but was happy that my T610 worked in all it's tri-band glory from the moment i stepped into JFK, so I could say goodnight to Georgie.

As I waited in the Taxi, I surveyed the sillouette of the Manhatten skyline as the sun set and wondered just how much of it I'd manage to take in during the next few days. And now that Steve's back I'll bid thee farewell for now.
